How can my charity apply for Miracle Day?
To participate in Miracle Day, a charity must be nominated by a U.S.-based CIBC World Markets’ client or employee*. Unsolicited letters of inquiry and proposals are not accepted.
Can you send me your client list?
No. The firm does not disclose its client list.
Can you tell me who nominated my organization?
No. The firm does not disclose who nominated a charity.
If my charity received funds from a prior Miracle Day is it automatically eligible to participate in Miracle Day 2007?
When is the nomination period?
The 2007 nomination period opens to clients and employees of CIBC World Markets on Thursday, September 5, and closes Friday, September 21, 2007. Clients must submit nominations to their CIBC World Markets representative.
Can you tell me if my charity has been nominated?
No. Please do not call or email to inquire if your charity has been nominated.
When will I know if my charity has been nominated?
The Miracle Day Committee will review nominations on a rolling basis during the nomination period. Charities will be informed of their nomination via email from the Miracle Day project manager beginning October 8, 2007.
Is there a formal application process for the charity?
No. The nominated charity does not have to fill out an application to be nominated. All required information is provided by the client or employee submitting the nomination.
How does CIBC World Markets approve charity nominations for Miracle Day?
Nominated charities will be contacted by the Miracle Day project manager to inform them of their nomination. Those charities passing the “Initial Committee Review” stage in the Nomination Review process will be contacted via email by the firm’s third-party vendor, CreateHope, and asked to complete an online Anti-Terror Certification Attestation. Charities must complete the attestation to move forward in the review process. The online attestation stage is referred to as “Due Diligence” in the Charity Nomination Review Process. The CIBC World Markets Miracle Day Committee reserves the right to determine the eligibility of all charities nominated for contribution.

Do nominated charities need to send in any additional information at the time of the nomination?
No. Nominated charities will be contacted directly by the Miracle Day project manager should any additional information be required.
When will I find out if my charity is approved for Miracle Day?
Charities will be informed of their final acceptance via email from the Miracle Day project manager on or about November 14, 2007.
Can I write about Miracle Day on my charity’s web site or in my charity’s newsletter?
Permission from the firm’s communications department is required. Please contact the Miracle Day project coordinator at MiracleDayUSA@us.cibc.com regarding all Miracle Day-related publications or postings. Approved charities will be sent an approval communication piece on or about November 15th that can be posted on your web site or in your newsletter.
When will I find out how much was raised on Miracle Day?
Miracle Day charities will be informed of funds raised in a letter accompanying the donation check. Checks will be mailed in mid-February 2008.
Can I find out how much my charity will be awarded before the Miracle Day donations are mailed?
No. Charities should not call to inquire about funds raised. Charities will be informed of the donation amount when the check and donation letter are sent out in mid-February and not prior to.
When will my charity receive its Miracle Day funds?
Miracle Day donations will be disbursed in mid-February 2008.
Is there anything I need to do after my charity receives the Miracle Day donation?
Yes. The donation check should be deposited immediately by the recipient organization and a letter for tax purposes should be sent to CIBC World Markets as instructed in the donation letter.
Can I use CIBC World Markets’ name or logo on my charity web site or in our newsletter for recognition purposes?
Charities are permitted to use the name and logo as instructed in the Approved communications. All other requests, such as placing the CIBC logo on a banner at an event, require approval from the firm’s communications department.
