Information For Clients

On CIBC World Markets Miracle Day - this year, it's December 5th – an amount equal to 100% of our net commissions (less expenses) from trades made through CIBC World Markets will be donated to children's charities located in the U.S.

Clients are invited to nominate a maximum of three charities for consideration in Miracle Day. Nominated charities are vetted by a third-party due diligence vendor and reviewed by the CIBC World Markets Miracle Day Committee. Charities receiving final approval will comprise the Miracle Day Charity List. Please see Charity Nomination Review Process.

On Miracle Day, you can designate that up to 50% (or a maximum of $50,000) of the net fees and commissions earned on your transactions with CIBC World Markets be directed to a charity (or charities*) on the Charity List and/or to the general pool for later allocation by the Miracle Day Committee.

Eligible charities are those that have as one of their principal missions improving the health, education or welfare of children who are underserved, at-risk or in need. To determine if your charity meets the criteria for Miracle Day, please refer to the Nomination Guidelines.

Important Details

  • Nomination period: September 5 – September 21, 2007
  • Three charity nominations per client
  • Nomination details must be provided to your CIBC World Markets representative
  • Charity must meet all criteria stated in Nomination Guidelines
  • Prior Miracle Day charities must be re-nominated for current year and undergo the Nomination Review Process
  • A nomination does not guarantee receipt of Miracle Day funds nor does a prior year's donation

Submitting A Charity Nomination

    To submit a nomination, please provide your CIBC World Markets representative with the following required information:
  1. Charity Employer Identification Number (EIN)
  2. Charity Name as stated on Federal Tax Form 990, indicate DBA (if applicable)
  3. Chapter (if applicable) For example: March of Dimes, New York Chapter
  4. Mailing Address
  5. Web Site Address
  6. Mission Statement
  7. Charity Contact Name & Title
  8. Charity Contact Email (Contact person’s actual email must be provided; info@xyzcharity.org is not accepted)
  9. Charity Contact Phone & Fax
  10. Use of Funds: Indicate how Miracle Day 2006 funds were used (if applicable); Specify how Miracle Day 2007 funds will be applied if a grant is awarded (indicate general operating expenses or a specific program and briefly describe program).
