The CIBC World Markets Children’s Foundation was established in 1984 to raise funds for children’s charities around the world. Globally it has donated in excess of £94 million to raise the quality of life of thousands of children whose lives are blighted by disability; illness, social deprivation or life limiting conditions.

The majority of fundraising takes place on Miracle Day, the first Wednesday of December, when CIBC World Markets institutional sales and trading staff donate fees and commissions earned on that day to the CIBC World Markets Children’s Foundation.

In London we supplement those monies raised on Miracle Day through a number of staff and client fundraising events held throughout the year, which has ensured that Miracle Day has become an integral part of our business. CIBC World Markets European operation has donated £2.9 million to numerous children’s charities across the United Kingdom and Europe since it became involved in 1994. In July 2004 the CIBC World Markets Children’s Foundation registered as a charity in the UK.
