About the Foundation

The CIBC World Markets Children's Foundation is a charitable trust responsible for distributing funds raised on Miracle Day (the first Wednesday of each December) to Canadian children's charities.

Our Philosophy

The CIBC World Markets Children's Foundation was founded on the belief that by working with our clients, employees and Canadian charities, we can make a difference for children. Since the Foundation's inception in 1984, we have provided donations to hundreds of charitable organizations whose focus is children in need.

The most important objective for CIBC World Markets and CIBC Wood Gundy remains our commitment to investing in the lives of children at risk and in need; to help prepare them for their future and to make sure that tomorrow's citizens are backed by a strong portfolio of skills and support.

What are the Foundation's objectives?

At CIBC World Markets and CIBC Wood Gundy, we accept our corporate social responsibility towards our clients, employees and members of the greater community. We believe that an economically strong community fosters a more favourable business environment and we want to be a leader in that community.

The CIBC World Markets Children's Foundation programs have four key objectives:
  • Raise the quality of life for children at risk and in need in the communities served by CIBC World Markets and CIBC Wood Gundy.
  • Demonstrate our dedication in helping to prepare Canadian children for future success.
  • Along with our clients, build awareness with audiences, both internally and externally, of the CIBC World Markets Children's Foundation's commitment to children's issues.
  • Encourage volunteerism and foster community involvement on the part of our employees.
